Chen Lin, MA (2023)

Lin obtained her Master of Arts in Curriculum Studies from Western University in July 2023. She researched the application of the theory of embodied cognition in American mathematics education. She believes that the body and the environment are essential in shaping an individual’s cognition. She was a biology teacher and a Chinese classical dancer, which empowers her to explore further the functions of the body. Those experiences contribute to her research to examine how non-STEM students develop their geometric cognition through an embodied cognition lens.
